The announcement follows a recent agreement signed by the Ministry of Health, Island Aviation Services Ltd (Maldivian), and the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) to introduce international air ambulance flights to Thailand and Dubai. The move marks an expansion of the government’s emergency medical transport services.
The Air Ambulance Services initiative is operated jointly by the Ministry of Health, Emergency Medical Services, NSPA, and Asandha Company Limited. The service, which operates around the clock, is equipped with advanced medical facilities to ensure safe and rapid transport for patients requiring urgent care.
Maldivian stated that the service’s effectiveness reflects the combined efforts of government agencies and healthcare organisations, and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining critical emergency transport services across the country.
