The five-year agreement marks the first instance of the Maldivian judiciary signing an MoU with a judicial authority of an Arab Islamic country.

Under the terms of the agreement, both countries will work to strengthen legal and administrative mechanisms within their judicial systems and focus on developing the professional competence and skills of judges and judicial personnel.

The MoU also provides for the exchange of policies, systems, information, experience and international best practices, alongside visits and skill-sharing between judicial and technical experts from both nations.

In addition, the agreement facilitates scientific and technical conferences, seminars, discussions, training programmes and workshops within the judicial sector.
