Gov’t Awards Contracts to Upgrade Health Facilities In Haa Alifu And Raa Atolls

The government has contracted two private companies to develop new health infrastructure in Haa Alifu Atoll and Raa Atoll as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen medical services across the country.

Perfect Malafehi Maldives Private Limited has been awarded the contract to construct a diagnostic services building at Haa Alifu Atoll Hospital for MVR 4.6 million. The project, which is expected to be completed within six months, will include dedicated rooms for CT scans, X-rays, ultrasound scanning, and speech therapy.

Separately, Altec Maldives Private Limited has been contracted to upgrade the Dhuvaafaru Health Centre to hospital status through the addition of a new facility. The company will complete the project within six months for MVR 25.5 million. The expansion will include an operation theatre complex, an Intensive Care Unit, a nurse station, a procedure room, and both medical and non-medical storerooms.

According to the authorities, multiple projects are progressing across the atolls to enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services.
