The newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General (Retd) Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, has presented his Letters of Credence to Russian President Vladimir V. Putin.
The ceremony took place on Thursday at the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow, marking the formal assumption of Ambassador Abdul Raheem’s diplomatic role with the Russian Federation.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Abdul Raheem conveyed warm greetings from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to President Putin, as well as to the Government and people of the Russian Federation.
Abdul Raheem currently serves as the Ambassador of the Maldives to the Republic of Türkiye and will concurrently hold the post of Non-Resident Ambassador to the Russian Federation, with residence in Ankara, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
