The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has established a National Election Complaints Bureau to manage complaints related to the upcoming local council and women’s development committee elections.
The bureau, located at the Election Centre, aims to streamline the process of submitting and resolving election-related complaints. Complaint forms can be submitted at Election Commission counters, via the bureau’s official email, on the ECM website, at the Election Centre, and at ECM office counters. Submissions are also accepted through designated focal points at councils and overseas.
Complaints will be accepted from the start of polling on 4 April until the announcement of provisional results. Polling will take place on 4 April from 08:00 to 16:00, with vote counting beginning after a 30-minute break. Official results are scheduled to be announced on 11 April.
