Maldives Non-Resident High Commissioner Presents Credentials to Seychelles

The newly appointed Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Seychelles, Masood Imad, presented his Letters of Credence to President Dr Patrick Herminie at a ceremony held this morning at the State House in Victoria.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, High Commissioner Masood conveyed greetings and felicitations from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives to President Herminie, as well as to the Government and citizens of Seychelles. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, highlighting opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, investment, fisheries, and tourism.

President Herminie expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would continue to deepen under High Commissioner Masood’s tenure, reaffirming Seychelles’ commitment to enhancing the longstanding partnership with the Maldives.

Following the ceremony, High Commissioner Masood held courtesy calls with the Vice President of Seychelles, His Excellency Sebastien Pillay.

High Commissioner Masood currently serves as the Maldives’ High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and will concurrently act as Non-Resident High Commissioner to Seychelles, based in Colombo.

The ceremony was attended by Seychelles’ Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Barry Faure and Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Lindy Ernesta. High Commissioner Masood was accompanied by Maldives’ Minister-Counsellor to Sri Lanka, Ismail Mamdhooh, and Maldives’ Honorary Consul to Seychelles, Lambert Bonne.
