The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure will hold a new draw to determine plot numbers for land being issued from Giraavaru falhu.

The draw follows a new land use plan for the area, which was gazetted on 26 January, with 4,072 plots set to be allocated under the Binveriyaa Scheme. The previous land use plan had left 610 plots unallocated.

While the new plan revises the locations of land plots, the draw is scheduled for 31 January at 09:30 at the Social Centre Hall in Malé City and will be conducted by designated Ministry employees. The event will be broadcast live on PSM.

The Ministry has stated that only one person per plot may be present at the draw. If a land recipient is unable to attend, a representative may attend on their behalf with written authorisation and copies of the recipient’s ID card.

Plot details will be accessible on the Hiyaavehi Portal during the draw, and recipients will receive SMS notifications of their plot numbers. The Ministry will announce the dates for signing land transfer agreements and completing land registration at a later time.
