The application period runs from today until 12:00 pm on Monday, 16 February 2026. The President’s Office will accept applications on official working days between 8:30 am and 12:00 pm. The committee’s responsibilities include advising on regulatory frameworks, standards and safety measures, supporting the development of construction-related services and supply chains, recommending investment incentives and partnerships, and promoting the use of technology and environmentally sustainable, climate-resilient building practices.
The Fisheries Sector Advisory Committee will consist of 11 members, including fishermen, vessel owners, crew members, experts in fisheries and mariculture, and private sector operators such as exporters and processing facilities.
Its mandate includes advising on the development and strengthening of the fisheries and mariculture sector, recommending reforms and diversification strategies, supporting innovation and technology use, enhancing quality assurance systems, advising on infrastructure development, promoting investment opportunities, and supporting capacity building and community participation.
The Tourism Sector Advisory Committee will comprise 14 members representing tourism companies, educational and technical experts, civil society organisations, resort and guesthouse workers across various service areas, and operators of safari vessels and liveaboards.
The committee will advise on addressing barriers to tourism growth, adapting to global market changes, diversifying tourism products, promoting the Maldives internationally, improving infrastructure and digital systems, developing human resources, and encouraging investment and strategic partnerships in the tourism sector.
The President’s Office said the committees are intended to strengthen stakeholder engagement and support informed policy-making across key economic sectors.
