Motorcycles Burned Beyond Use in Hithadhoo Blaze

Several motorcycles parked near Flat 11 in Hithadhoo, Addu City, were destroyed in a fire yesterday.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) reported that the blaze was reported to its Southern Area Command at 4:10 am. Firefighters from the Hithadhoo Fire Station responded promptly and brought the fire under control by around 4:25 am. Two motorcycles were completely burned beyond use.

Photos shared by the MNDF show the motorcycles reduced to ashes. The fire also caused damage to several plants near the vehicles.

The MNDF has not disclosed the cause of the fire. Vehicle fires involving motorcycles and cars have occurred previously, with some incidents suspected to be linked to arson.
