The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced that it is seeking applications for the post of Director General of Public Health at the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

The position became vacant following the retirement of Maimoona Aboobakuru on 8 January. Maimoona, who led the country’s public health response during the COVID‑19 pandemic, stepped down in accordance with government policies, citing personal reasons.

The successful candidate will work within the Health Services and Health Policy Department. Applicants must meet the basic eligibility requirements, hold relevant education and experience, and possess a preferred discipline certificate. Selection will be based on performance in an examination, a presentation, and an interview.

The deadline for applications is 14:00 on Wednesday next week.
