Government Awards New School Building Projects Across 29 Islands

The Ministry of Education has contracted new school building projects across 29 islands to three state-owned companies, according to information released on the allocations.

According to posts shared on X, of the total projects, 18 have been awarded to the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC), making it the largest recipient of the contracts. The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been assigned six projects, while the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has received four.  

Some projects awarded to FDC: Haa Alif Thakandhoo, Haa Alif Vashafaru, Haa Alif Filladhoo, Raa Kinolhas, Raa Rasmaadhoo, amongst 18 others

Projects awarded to MTCC: Raa Innamadhoo, Gaaf Dhaal Fiyoree, Shaviyani Feydhoo, Faafu Dhara’nboodhoo 

Projetcs awarded to RDC: Haa Alif Ulimagu, Haa Alif  Ihavandhoo, Raa Hulhudhuffaaru, Raa Meedhoo, Kaafu Gaafaru, Kaafu Guradaidhoo

No further details were immediately available regarding the total value of the contracts or the implementation timelines for the projects.
