First Outdoor Gym Opens In Hulhumalé Phase II
The first outdoor gym developed in Hulhumalé Phase II has officially opened, marking a new addition to recreational facilities in the area.
The facility was inaugurated by the Managing Director of the Housing Development Corporation, Ali Zuhair, at a ceremony held near the site.
The outdoor gym is located close to the turf ground in Phase II, near the Hiyaa towers, and is equipped with 22 types of exercise equipment. The project is intended to encourage a healthy lifestyle among residents of Hulhumalé and to enhance community wellbeing by providing accessible fitness infrastructure.
Hulhumalé Phase II has experienced rapid population growth in recent years, and several initiatives are being undertaken under a new master plan to improve the living environment for residents. The Housing Development Corporation stated that it will continue to support government efforts by implementing projects aimed at fostering a healthy and productive society.
The establishment of outdoor gyms across the country forms part of a key presidential pledge of Dr Mohamed Muizzu, aligned with the National Fitness Plan to expand access to public exercise facilities on all islands of the Maldives.
