NDMA Provides Relief After Kitchen Fire in Hulhumalé

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided temporary food and shelter to a family affected by a fire last night.
NDMA reported that the fire broke out on the seventh floor of Hulhumalé One Avenue, causing significant damage to the apartment’s kitchen. Images shared by the authority show the cooker hood burnt beyond use and visible damage to the kitchen walls.
The authority confirmed that it is assisting the family with immediate relief while relevant agencies assess the extent of the damage. The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
