Air quality levels have declined across the Maldives, with particularly poor conditions recorded in northern and central regions. Authorities warn that the situation is expected to persist over the next five days.
Seafarers and individuals spending extended periods outdoors have been advised to take necessary precautions and follow health guidance issued by the Health Protection Agency.
Real-time monitoring data from IQAir shows that Kulhudhuffushi is recording the highest pollution levels today, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 139. The level falls within the orange category, which indicates unhealthy conditions for sensitive groups.

Villingili is also registering an orange-level reading, with an AQI of 107, signalling unhealthy air quality for vulnerable individuals.
In the capital, Malé, the AQI stands at 79, placing it in the yellow category. This level indicates moderate air pollution, which may pose health risks, particularly to people with respiratory conditions.Authorities continue to monitor the situation as elevated pollution levels are forecast to remain over the coming days.
