Condor to Resume Maldives Flights for European Summer
Summer operations restart as condor returns to maldives
German airline Condor has decided to resume flights to the Maldives in line with the European summer season, marking its return to summer operations after a hiatus of about a year.
According to the airline’s “Summer 2026” schedule, four weekly flights will operate between Frankfurt and the Maldives from 1 May until the end of October. The flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Condor is set to deploy its Airbus A330-900neo aircraft on the route, a model designed to offer improved fuel efficiency and enhanced passenger comfort.
The decision is expected to support an increase in tourist arrivals from the German market, which has consistently remained one of the Maldives’ top source markets. Condor has maintained a long-standing presence in Maldivian tourism, having operated flights to the destination since 1981, although its earlier services were primarily charter operations.
The resumption of direct flights comes amid ongoing challenges faced by European travellers transiting through the Middle East, where the conflict has affected air travel routes via hubs in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
The government has also indicated that discussions are ongoing with European carriers to expand direct connectivity to the Maldives in order to ease travel disruptions and improve accessibility from key markets.
