President Offers Condolences Following Death of Ahmed Adam

President Mohamed Muizzu has expressed condolences to the family of Ahmed Adam, widely known as Petral Ahmedbe, who served in the food services industry for more than 55 years.

In a message shared on X, the President described Ahmed Adam as a kind-hearted individual with exemplary character, noting his dedication to hard work and community service. He highlighted Ahmed Adam’s contributions to the development of the Machangolhi ward and his support for local sports, including assistance to Club Lagoons and Victory Sports Club.

The President also noted that Ahmed Adam had been involved in producing Maldivian products such as salted fish (lonumas) since the 1970s. Following the era of the Gurabuthundi Hotel in Malé, he established Hotel Petral, which went on to earn public trust. He further acknowledged Ahmed Adam’s longstanding role in the catering sector, including providing meal services to several major government institutions.

President Muizzu concluded his message by praying for Allah to grant the late Ahmed Adam mercy and eternal peace.
