MACL Completes Land Reclamation Project in Veymandoo

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has completed a land reclamation project in Veymandoo, aimed at supporting housing and economic development on the island.

The project adds 27 hectares of land, addressing long-standing land scarcity issues faced by residents and delivering on a key pledge by Mohamed Muizzu.

Physical works began on 12 March 2026 and were completed on 4 April 2026. The reclamation was carried out using the dredger Filippo Brunelleschi, which has a capacity of 11,300 cubic metres per load.

MACL stated that it remains committed to supporting national development initiatives through the timely and efficient delivery of infrastructure projects.
