Two Injured in Fuel Boat Fire in Feeali Harbour

Two people were injured in a fire on a fuel boat docked in Feeali harbour, Faafu Atoll, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) has reported.
Police said the incident occurred at approximately 9:15 am this morning, when the fuel boat caught fire while docked at the harbour. Authorities responded to the scene and worked to contain the blaze.
An expatriate sustained burn injuries and is being treated at Feeali Health Centre. Another individual initially reported missing was later found on a drifting pallet by a passing supply vessel at around 10:15 am. That person is now receiving treatment at Gan Regional Hospital in Laamu Atoll.

According to MPS, the fire also caused damage to two additional boats and two dinghies. An ice plant in the area was affected by the heat and caught fire, while the nearby fuel shed sustained damage, including to its dispenser and parts of the structure.
