21-Year-Old Dies in Drowning Incident in Hithadhoo

A 21-year-old man has died after drowning while fishing in Hithadhoo.

The Maldives Police Service stated that the incident was reported yesterday at 3:30 PM, involving a person who had drowned while fishing at sea.

Police noted that the island’s health centre informed authorities that the individual was already deceased upon arrival.

The deceased has been identified as Ahmed Hamzan, 21, of Amaan, Hithadhoo.

Police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
