Boat Carrying National Service Trainees Ruptures Near Hulhumalé; All Students Rescued from the Sea

A speedboat carrying students participating in the National Service Initial Training Course-2 ruptured and began taking on water near Hulhumalé today, forcing those on board to enter the sea before rescue operations were launched.
The vessel had been travelling from Maafilaafushi, where the training takes place, to Malé when the incident occurred.
The Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard conducted rescue operations to bring the students to safety and transport them back to Malé.
Authorities later confirmed that all students travelling on the damaged and waterlogged speedboat were safely rescued and brought to the capital.
No injuries or casualties were immediately reported.
