President Appoints Ali Naseer Gasim to Judicial Service Commission

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Ali Naseer Gasim as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

He was appointed in accordance with Article 158(c) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and the Judicial Service Commission Act.

Ali Naseer Gasim took the oath of office and signed the declaration of membership at a ceremony held at the President’s Office today. Supreme Court Justice Ali Rasheed Hussain administered the oath.

Following the oath-taking, President Muizzu formally presented the letter of appointment.

The Judicial Service Commission consists of 10 members.

Gasim had been working with the Malé City Council’s legal team until Monday, when he retired, according to the council. He started working for the council in 2011, prior to which he worked with the Henveiru Avashu Office from 2002 to 2011.
