The government has postponed the deadline for submitting applications for most of the schemes currently underway in the Malé area under the government’s “Housing for All” policy to 15 June.

In a notice published in the Government Gazette, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development said the application deadline for all flat and land plot schemes opened in the Malé area has been extended until 11:59pm on Monday, 15 June 2026.

The deadline had originally been set to expire on 31 May.

According to the notice, the extension was granted following complaints from a large number of applicants who reported difficulties in gathering required documents and completing applications within the initial period.

The ministry noted that Eid al-Adha holidays, government office closures and travel during the holiday period had contributed to the delays.

The ministry urged applicants to ensure they complete the correct application form for the scheme they intend to apply for and verify that all required documents and information are submitted accurately before the deadline.

Applicants were also advised to confirm through the application portal that their submissions had been successfully completed.

For further information, the ministry asked applicants to contact its hotline numbers: 4004860, 4004861, 4004862, 4004863, 4004864 and 4004865.
