He said assistants from the Maldives Hajj Corporation were actively assisting the pilgrim and that the overall Hajj operation was proceeding smoothly.

According to the Hajj Corporation, nearly 1,000 Maldivian pilgrims are participating in Hajj this year under the Maldives’ allocated quota.

The corporation previously announced that all Maldivian pilgrims would be accommodated at the Al Balad At Tayyib Ajiyad Hotel in Makkah, which has been reserved exclusively for pilgrims from the Maldives.

The 12-storey hotel consists of 355 rooms and includes facilities such as the Hajj Corporation Office, the Office of the Hajj Mission, a 24-hour help desk, a health clinic, a mosque, conference hall, restaurants, kitchen, laundry services, café and buggy transportation services within the premises.

According to the corporation, the arrangement was designed to centralise accommodation and services in one location to provide greater convenience and support for Maldivian pilgrims during the pilgrimage period.
