Indian High Commission to Hold ‘Open House’ for Indians in Maldives

The High Commission of India in the Maldives will hold its next “Open House” session for Indian nationals on 29 May, at its premises in Hulhumalé, the mission has announced.
The event will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the High Commission of India located at Hithigas Magu, Golahi-4, Phase-1, Hulhumalé. Participants have been advised to arrive by 2:30 p.m.
According to the High Commission, the Open House provides an opportunity for Indian nationals in the Maldives to present concerns, difficulties and grievances directly to officials and seek possible solutions.
The session is held annually as part of the mission’s consular and welfare outreach activities for the Indian expatriate community in the Maldives.

According to the latest available figures from the Maldives Bureau of Statistics, Indian workers account for roughly 29 per cent of the Maldives’ total international migrant labour force, making them one of the largest expatriate communities in the country.
