The road leading to Terminal 2 at Velana International Airport (VIA) will be closed overnight from 7 to 12 June to facilitate maintenance works, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced.
According to the notice, the road will be closed daily between 12:00am and 4:00am during the maintenance period.
As a result, passengers using the R3, R4 and R9 bus services will be dropped off and picked up at the cycle parking area near the airport entrance instead of the usual location, which is near Terminal 2 itself.
The temporary arrangement will remain in effect throughout the road closure period.

Terminal 2, formerly the airport’s international terminal, was redesignated as the domestic terminal following the opening of Terminal 1, with international arrivals and departures moved to the new facility. Since then, the former domestic terminal has been closed and has undergone maintenance and refurbishment works.
