StatePharma Takes Over Operations of All STO Pharmacies Nationwide

All STO pharmacies across the Maldives have officially transitioned to and commenced operations under StatePharma today, 1 July 2026.

In a statement, StatePharma said it was honoured to assume the responsibility of managing the nationwide pharmacy network and pledged to strengthen access to quality medicines and pharmacy services across the country.

The corporation acknowledged that customers may experience temporary inconvenience during the transition period and apologised in advance. It added that its 24-hour hotline, 1505, will remain available to assist the public.

StatePharma also thanked the public, healthcare partners and staff for their support, patience and cooperation throughout the transition, stating that it looks forward to continuing to meet the healthcare needs of communities across the Maldives.

The State Pharmaceutical and Medical Supply Corporation Limited was established on 9 September 2025 by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu under the authority granted by the Companies Act.

According to the government, the corporation’s primary objective is to strengthen the procurement and supply of medicines, medical consumables and medical equipment nationwide. The company is wholly owned by the Government of the Maldives.
