Parliament Approves Three Non-Resident Ambassador Appointments

Parliament has approved the appointment of three non-resident ambassadors to represent the Maldives in South Africa, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Mauritania and Kenya.

The appointments were unanimously endorsed by the 64 MPs who participated in the vote.

Hala Hameed (H. Meenaaz) was approved for appointment as the Maldives’ non-resident ambassador to South Africa.

Aminath Abdulla Didi (Gulzaaruge, GDh. Thinadhoo) received parliamentary approval to serve as the Maldives’ non-resident ambassador to the Czech Republic.

Meanwhile, Amin Javed Faizal (H. Athireege) was approved for appointment as the Maldives’ non-resident ambassador to both the Republic of Mauritania and Kenya.

The parliamentary approval clears the way for the government to proceed with the appointments in accordance with the required diplomatic procedures.
