Police Launch Five-Day Retraining Programme to Strengthen Ethics, Technical Skills
The “Blues Re-Training Programme 2026” is organised by the Centre for Public Safety and Security Studies at the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement, in Addu City.
The Maldives Police Service has begun a five-day retraining programme for officers aimed at strengthening ethical standards, technical knowledge, leadership skills and operational capabilities.
The “Blues Re-Training Programme 2026” began on Saturday in Dh. Vaanee is being organised by the Centre for Public Safety and Security Studies at the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement, in Addu City.

The programme aims to familiarise officers with the challenges of modern policing and support the development of a responsible, professional and community-oriented police institution.
The curriculum covers internal ethics, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, operational policing, scenario-based training, case studies and team building. It also focuses on rapid decision-making, problem-solving, effective communication and teamwork.
The first round of the programme is being conducted for officers from the ranks of Constable to Sub-Inspector serving in the South Central Police Region. A total of 98 officers are taking part in the programme.
The initiative is intended to support institutional development, promote innovative solutions and strengthen the skills and ethical standards of police officers in addressing contemporary policing challenges.
