Over 20 Scholarship Opportunities Announced for Studies at Al-Azhar University
Maldives opens applications for Egypt university scholarships
The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development has opened applications for 22 scholarships at Egypt’s Al-Azhar University for Maldivian students seeking higher education opportunities.
The scholarships are offered at Al-Azhar University, one of the world’s oldest Islamic institutions, with five places available in law and Sharia studies and 17 places in natural sciences, mathematics and statistics.

Applicants must be Maldivian citizens under the age of 30 as of August 15 and must be regularly repaying any loans received through the Ministry of Higher Education.
Applications must be submitted through the ministry’s online portal. Applicants are required to submit educational certificates stamped by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA), academic transcripts, a good conduct certificate from their last school, and a medical report including HIV, AIDS and tuberculosis (TB) test results.
The ministry said online applications will remain open until 1:30 pm on August 6, while hard copy submissions will be accepted until 11 am on August 12.
