Four Arrested in Drug Operation on R. Dhuvaafaru

Four young men have been arrested in connection with the alleged use and sale of drugs in R. Dhuvaafaru.
Police identified the suspects as 22-year-old Maisam Musthafa, 21-year-old Ali Firsad Adam, 21-year-old Ali Hasran and 19-year-old Mohamed Suneyh.
The arrests were made during a joint operation by the Counter Narcotics Intelligence unit and Dhuvaafaru Police. Acting under a court order, officers searched a café on the island and recovered a bottle containing suspected drugs and equipment believed to have been used for drug consumption.
The four suspects were brought before the court. Maisam Musthafa was remanded in custody for 15 days, while the remaining three suspects were remanded for 10 days each.
Dhuvaafaru Police are continuing to investigate the case.
Drug abuse remains a significant social issue in the Maldives, with law enforcement agencies reporting growing involvement of young people in drug-related offences.
