Hulhumalé Residents Can Now Register in Malé Residents’ Registry Through Maavehi Portal

The Malé City Council has resolved technical difficulties with its Maavehi portal and opened the Malé Residents’ Registry to residents of Hulhumalé Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Fahi Union has urged all Hulhumalé residents, including those living in Fahi, Hiyaa and Vinares flats and apartments developed by private real estate companies, to apply for registration through the Maavehi portal.

The union welcomed the council’s addition of Hulhumalé’s flat names to the portal, allowing residents to select their respective tower numbers and flat names when submitting applications.

The development follows Fahi Union’s previous calls for recipients of the 4,000 housing units awarded under the Gedhoruveriyaa scheme to register as residents of Malé.

In a statement issued on 31 May, the union said beneficiaries continued to face difficulties because they were not officially registered as residents of the capital.

Fahi Union said Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) had established an online system allowing housing beneficiaries to request documents required by the Malé City Council for residency registration. FDC has begun issuing letters to applicants who submit requests through the portal, according to the union.

How to Register

Residents registering for the first time can apply through the Maavehi portal by providing their birth certificate number and a copy of their birth certificate, along with their current address and residency details.

Applicants must select Hulhumalé as their ward and provide the relevant tower information.

Additional documents required include a photograph, FDC letter, relevant pages of the flat agreement, flat layout and flat location documents.

Parents can also use the portal to register their children.

Once the application is submitted, the Malé City Council will process the request and notify applicants when their residency registration is complete and the registry document is ready for collection.
