Kaashi Theyo or Coconut Oil has been used by Maldivians since early ages for its health and beauty benefits. 

Studies show that coconut oil—which is extracted from the meat of mature coconuts—improves skin barrier function and repair, has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, fights the signs of skin aging, and makes an effective moisturizer. 

In addition, Coconut Oil is also very beneficial to hair. The lauric acid in coconut oil has nourishing properties that are especially prone to soak into the strands of your hair. Coconut oil absorbs into your hair quickly, providing moisture to tame frizz and heal breakage.

Ali says that the project began with his enthusiasm to make an authentic product in the Maldives. He said that after experimenting with a few products, he discovered Kaashi Theyo to be a viable product. 

From “Kaashi hovun” to processing it to oil, all the steps are handmade by him with the help of his sister. 

He added saying that he does not want to mass-produce the product currently due to the restrictions in the production process and also in order to maintain the quality and authenticity of the product.
