MRC Concludes 14th Year of Humanitarian Service with Fundraising Week

The Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) observes its 14th anniversary of dedicated humanitarian service, coinciding with its formation on the 16th of August, 2023.
The MRC commemorates this occasion with a week-long fundraising drive, marked by a series of events and initiatives aimed at further fortifying its emergency response capabilities and sustaining ongoing programmes and services for the Maldivian communities.

Central to this initiative is the MRC Fundraising Week 2023, designated by the hashtag #MRC14. Over the course of seven days, MRC seeks to secure contributions to bolster emergency response services and ensure the continuity of its programmes, benefiting communities across the Maldives.
Throughout the week, MRC has curated an array of public engagements that shed light on its 14-year humanitarian legacy. Open to the public, these events not only serve as opportunities to gain insights into the organization’s mission but also encourage active participation and involvement in the fundraising campaign.

Humanitarian Festival, Hdh, Kulhudhuffushi City | 18th August 2023:
MRC Kulhudhuffushi City has orchestrated an event designed to promote compassion and showcase the organisation’s impactful work to the public. Featuring interactive stalls tailored for different age groups, attendees can partake in engaging games and gather informative resources.
Heyohithun Run, Male’ City | 19th August 2023:
MRC Male’ City Unit presents the annual Heyohithun Run, aligning with the celebration of MRC Day 2023. This event serves as a platform to foster community well-being, propagate the organization’s mission, and advocate for humanitarian values. Participants have the opportunity to contribute to the fundraising drive through event registration and the purchase of event bibs.
Run for Humanity Event, Addu City | 18th August 2023:
MRC Addu City stages its annual community event, the Run for Humanity 2023. Anchored in the spirit of humanitarianism, the event encourages community members to partake, creating a shared sense of purpose. Attendees gain insights into the various spheres of MRC’s activities while actively contributing to the fundraising week through event registration and the acquisition of event bibs.
