This amendment marks a departure from the previous rule that prohibited teachers from wearing niqab during teaching hours.
The decision, which came into effect yesterday, does not impose a mandatory requirement for teachers to wear headscarves during teaching periods.
It is essential to note that while this amendment acknowledges the right of teachers to wear niqabs, a certain restriction has been put in place regarding their use when interacting with children under the age of 10. In such cases, teachers are prohibited from wearing the niqab.
However, in other professional and educational settings, teachers are permitted to wear the niqab without any restrictions.
