Islamic Ministry Awards Mosque Construction Contracts in Muraidhoo and Gemanafushi

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has signed with Evosun Maldives Private Limited for the construction of mosques in HA. Muraidhoo and GA. Gemanafushi on Thursday.

Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali, Minister of Islamic Affairs, alongside Hussain Waheed, Director of Evosun Maldives, formalised the agreement, marking the beginning of this project.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Zahir expressed the government’s commitment to completing the project, as the community has high expectations for the development of mosques in the atolls.

Under this initiative, Evosun Maldives will undertake the construction of mosques capable of accommodating up to 300 people in Muraidhoo, at an estimated cost of USD 519,000. 

Similarly, the company will build a mosque in Gemanafushi with a budget of USD 649,000, designed to cater to the religious needs of the local population. 

The construction timeline stipulates a duration of 365 days for the completion of both mosques, with provisions for accommodating both men and women.
