Qasim Pledges to Establish Mosques Near Harbours on Islands

Jumhooree Party (JP) presidential candidate Qasim Ibrahim, has pledged to establish mosques in close proximity to the harbours of every island across the nationcitizens of the Maldives, during a campaign event held at Hangnaameedhoo in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll.
In his address, Qasim underscored the Maldives’ status as an Islamic nation and highlighted the potential benefits for locals by having easily accessible places of worship near harbours.
He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing this plan, promising to ensure the presence of mosques near harbours on every island under his administration. To oversee the religious activities in these new establishments, he revealed his intention to appoint two individuals for each mosque to conduct prayers.
Beyond his promise regarding places of worship, Qasim also outlined ambitious plans to revolutionize the country’s education sector. One of his key proposals involves equipping classrooms in all schools across the nation with state-of-the-art amenities, including 75-inch televisions and smart boards.
Furthermore, he pledged to improve the learning environment by installing air conditioning units in every classroom. In a bid to bolster technological education, Qasim expressed his commitment to establishing advanced computer labs in each school, ensuring that these labs are equipped with contemporary facilities.
