The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) revealed that it received a total of 20 alleged corruption cases entwined with the election; of which the Commission accepted four cases for further investigation.
While four cases have met the criteria for formal probing, the remaining 14 cases have been declined, according to ACC.
ACC has underscored that matters concerning corruption associated with the upcoming presidential election should be channeled through the Commission.
The ACC has introduced a dedicated online portal with the explicit purpose of receiving reports on bribery-related incidents. The Commission has affirmed that instances of corruption linked to the electoral process have been submitted through this digital platform, as well as through alternative avenues.
To enter the portal, visit: https://acc.gov.mv/en/services/corruption-reporting
This portal is also intended to function as an informative hub, providing insights into the nuances of electoral bribery and outlining precautionary measures to counter it.
Importantly, the portal has been designed to ensure the protection of user data, with discreet and anonymous updates on case developments being relayed to users.
