Customs stated yesterday that the dollars in question were imported by a bank registered in the Maldives and were accompanied by the necessary permits.
The video, which gained attention on social media platforms, initially raised concerns regarding the legality of the dollar importation, with speculations suggesting illegal origins from a neighboring country.
Customs authorities have asserted that the imported funds were indeed brought into Maldives following all established regulatory procedures.
Additionally, Customs has urged the public to exercise caution when sharing such videos on social media, as they can contribute to unwarranted speculation and misinformation.
