President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the completion of several projects in H.Dh. Vaikaradhoo, H.Dh. Makunudhoo, H.Dh. Nellaidhoo, and H.Dh. Kumundhoo.

Projects in Vaikaradhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially inaugurated the new extension of the healthcare centre on Vaikaradhoo Island in Haa Dhaalu Atoll today.

The President is conducting a tour of the islands in Haa Dhaalu Atoll. This development marks a significant milestone in providing healthcare services to the local community and is expected to bring numerous benefits to the residents of Vaikaradhoo Island.

The new extension building of the healthcare centre on Vaikaradhoo Island comprises a range of facilities designed to enhance the provision of healthcare services to the local community.

These include an administrative area for managing healthcare employees, a public health unit providing preventative and promotional health services, a counselling room, a meeting room, a medical store, a general store, and a garage space. Perfect Malafehi Maldives Pvt. Ltd. constructed the facility, demonstrating a commitment to quality and excellence in the delivery of healthcare services.

Projects in Makunudhoo and Kumundhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated new infrastructure projects on Makunudhoo and Kumundhoo Islands in South Thiladhunmathi Atoll today.

These projects include FENAKA offices on both islands and a new powerhouse on Kumundhoo Island. Completing these projects marks a significant milestone in the region’s development and will benefit the local communities.

During his ongoing visit to several islands in the atoll, President Solih commemorated the completion of these projects. The new FENAKA office on Makunudhoo Island showcases modern design and functionality, with a spacious, state-of-the-art facility that accommodates up to 30 employees.

The new powerhouse on Kumundhoo Island, with its power generation capacity of 1,000 kilowatts, will provide a reliable energy source for the local community and help solve numerous issues the community faces.

This will improve residents’ quality of life and support the islands’ continued development. On Kumundhoo Island, President Solih also opened the FENAKA office, a spacious and modern facility accommodating up to 30 employees.

Projects in Nellaidhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated newly completed infrastructure projects on Nellaidhoo Island in Haa Dhaalu Atoll on Sunday.

These projects, part of his ongoing tour of the atoll, include an upgraded harbour, a new powerhouse, and a coastal protection project.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) completed the coastal protection and harbour upgrading projects. The harbour upgrading project included the development of 164 metres of breakwater, 224 metres of quay wall, 125 metres of groynes, and other improvements. The coastal protection project involved the installation of an 873-metre revetment and the development of a 1,500-cubic-meter swimming area.

The newly constructed powerhouse on Nellaidhoo Island has a power generation capacity of 980 kilowatts, representing a significant advancement in providing reliable and efficient power. Its strategic location, away from residential areas, minimises disturbances for the island’s residents. The facility is spacious and modern, capable of accommodating many personnel.
