Furthermore, under the leadership of an MNP government, Nazim pledged to employ technology for the surveillance and monitoring of the country’s sea and air regions. This comprehensive approach would entail the use of drones for aerial surveillance and the deployment of robots and remotely operated modern vehicles to monitor the seabed.

In addition to fortifying the armed forces, Nazim expressed his intent to establish a system that would empower the police to carry out their responsibilities independently. He took the opportunity to critique previous administrations for perceived hindrances imposed on both the police and military, impeding their ability to fulfill their duties effectively.

Addressing the critical issue of drug trafficking, Nazim asserted his unwavering commitment to tackling the problem head-on. He announced plans to implement the death penalty for individuals involved in large-scale drug smuggling into the Maldives, emphasizing the gravity of his stance on this matter.

As the presidential campaign gains momentum, Mohamed Nazim’s promise of military modernisation and his comprehensive approach to security issues have become central topics of discussion among voters, setting the stage for a highly contested election.
