Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is candidate number 4, while President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is represented by candidate number 3 as before.
In the initial round of voting, the PPM/PNC candidate, Muizzu, secured 46.15% of the votes, while the incumbent president and MDP candidate Solih, garnered 39.09% of the vote.
This decision comes as none of the candidates were able to secure the required 50% of the vote in the initial round of voting.
The decision to allow candidates to keep their original numbers aims to maintain clarity for voters as they head back to the polls on September 30.
With neither candidate reaching the 50% threshold required for an outright victory, the stage is set for a second round.
