Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the People’s National Congress’ (PNC) presidential candidate, has pledged to double the salaries of police and army personnel during a rally at Artificial Beach on Friday night.

This commitment underscores his appreciation for the vital national service rendered by these forces and his determination to prioritize their financial well-being.

Dr. Muizzu’s commitment to raise the salaries of the army and police aligns with President Solih’s promise to increase the salaries of all civil service employees, encompassing armed forces, police, immigration, customs, corrections, religious leaders, judicial staff, and local council workers, commencing in January.

Additionally, Muizzu announced that rent payments for police and army flats constructed in Hulhumale Phase I would be deferred for one year during his potential rule.

He appeared to be addressing advance payments for these flats and expressed his intention to facilitate installment payments.
