MET Office Issues White Alert to Central Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert  from Alif Alif Atoll to Dhaalu atoll, warning residents and authorities of the likelihood of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind.

The alert is in effect from today, starting at 13:30 hrs and lasting until 18:30 hrs on the same day.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms can pose various hazards, including localised flooding, strong winds, and potential disruptions to transportation and utilities.

During the specified period, residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
