Addressing the audience at the ceremony, which marked the unveiling of a collection of books published under the ‘University Book Writing Grant,’ Naseem emphasised the administration’s steadfast commitment to nurturing an environment conducive to the growth and development of talented writers.

During his speech, the Vice President highlighted the importance of writing and literature in disseminating knowledge within societies. He commended MNU for successfully implementing the ‘University Book Writing Grant,’ describing it as a catalyst for academic writing.

Furthermore, he stressed the significance of preserving the Dhivehi language, considering it a unique identifier of the Maldivian identity. He noted that this year, three authors have already published their works, thanks to the funding provided by the ‘University Book Writing Grant.’

Following the ceremony, Vice President Naseem inaugurated the ‘MNU Book Fair 2023’ and took the opportunity to tour the event held on the university premises. The fair, running from today until September 22, 2023, at the central campus of MNU, serves as a marketplace that connects authors and booksellers with enthusiastic readers.

This year’s event features the participation of 23 exhibitors.
