The three-day meeting, spanning from the 20th to the 22nd of this month, features three high-level discussions on crucial global health matters. These topics encompass Universal Health Coverage, the Elimination of Tuberculosis, and Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response.
The Ministry of Health is set to play a pivotal role in addressing these pressing issues, with the expectation that a political declaration will be signed following these deliberations.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health’s representatives will actively participate in side events organized by nations engaged in the health sector. This includes their involvement in the “Combined Disease Elimination” side event hosted by the World Health Organization, as well as delivering a speech at the HIV-related side event on behalf of UNAIDS.
The delegation’s presence at the 78th UN General Assembly underscores the commitment of the Ministry of Health and the Maldives government to contribute constructively to global health discussions and collaborate with international partners to address critical health challenges.
