President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has unveiled a housing allowance program, amounting to MVR 7,000, aimed at supporting principals working away from their residential islands.
The announcement came during President Solih’s address at a campaign event in Male’ City.
Furthermore, President Solih emphasised the role played by high-performing school principals in the education system. In a bid to support these educators and make their professional roles more accessible, the President revealed his decision to introduce a housing allowance of MVR 7,000.
The Ministry of Education has been tasked with disseminating detailed information about the eligibility criteria and the application process for this new housing allowance policy.
It is worth noting that prior to the introduction of this program, principals working away from their residential islands had been receiving accommodation allowances, which was discontinued following the implementation of the new pay framework in May.
