MET Office Declares White Alert for Multiple Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert for several regions, spanning from Haa Alif Atoll to Faafu Atoll.

This alert is in effect from 10:00 hrs until 16:00 hrs, today.

People residing in or visiting these regions are encouraged to be cautious due to the anticipated heavy rain and thunderstorms in the upcoming timeframe.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
