Pension Allowance Will Still Be Given from Age 65, Miuvaan Clarifies

Miuvaan Mohamed, the spokesperson for the President’s Office, announced last night that President Solih’s decision entails an increase in the basic pension amount to MVR 7000, accompanied by the option for individuals to continue working until the age of 70.
އަސާސީ ޕެންޝަންގެ ޢަދަދު -/7000 އަށް ބޮޑުކުރުމާއެކު ޢުމުރުން 70 އަހަރާ ހަމަޔަށް މަސައްކަތްކުރުމުގެ އިޚްތިޔާރު ލިބޭގޮތަށް ބަދަލުކުރުމަށް ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ވަނީ ނިންމަވާފައި. މި ސިޔާސަތާއެކު ޢުމުރުން 65 އަހަރުވުމަށްފަހު އަމިއްލަ އިޚްތިޔާރުގައި ވަޒީފާގައި ހުރުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު ލިބޭނެ

Notably, this policy maintains the basic pension age at 65 years.
Consequently, those who opt to stay in the workforce beyond the age of 65 will still be eligible for the enhanced basic pension of MVR 7000.
