MET Office Issues Yellow Alert for Several Atolls

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a Yellow Alert from Shaviyani Atoll to Vaavu Atoll and from Faafu Atoll to Thaa Atoll.

Shaviyani Atoll to Vaavu Atoll alert is effective from 13:00 hrs and lasting until 17:00 hrs, today and Faafu Atoll to Thaa Atoll alert is effective from 15:30 hrs and lasting until 19:30 hrs, today.

The MMS warns of impending torrential rain and thunderstorms accompanied by gusts of up to 45 mph during this period.
