In the midst of the second round of the presidential race, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the opposition’s candidate has vehemently refuted the authenticity of audio and video clips that have been circulating on social media platforms.

These clips purportedly feature Muizzu discussing land transfers and the incarceration of former President Abdullah Yameen.

There are audios circulating on social media, of seemingly Muizzu’s voice, about transferring the lands given from Hulhumale’ to K. Fushidhiggaru. The audio also includes the man talking about not releasing former President Abdullah Yameen.

“There are different ways to make audio. There are different ways to manipulate audio. The anti-campaign has gone to the extreme,” Muizzu told supporters during a campaign event.

Muizzu said he would not speak anything but the truth. The past will show that and nothing will be hidden, he said.

“I am not anxious of the accusations against me. I don’t think I should stoop to the same level as others. There will be no audio or video to show against me,” Muizzu said.

Muizzu further stated that he has never done anything against the law and never will.
